Salem-Keizer Public Schools' budget committee has approved a $1.28 billion spending plan for the 2023-24 school year. That's slightly less than spending planned for the current school year, and falls short of what's needed, Superintendent Christy Perry said at a recent budget committee meeting. However, committee members made their decision with no real idea how much the district will actually have.
