KEIZER, OREGON — A man is dead after a homeowner shot a home invader on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Keizer police responded to a call for a report of a person with a gunshot wound. The shooting took place around 2:20 a.m. in the 3000 block of Mayfield Place North. Police say that a homeowner awoke to an intruder in his house and grabbed his firearm. He then fired a single shot, which struck the intruder. He then called police. Police have identified the intruder as Aaron Scott Gage, 30, of Salem. Gage was pronounced dead at the scene.
